    Education

Monthly methodology review; keeps the playbook's research notes honest and writes evidence-backed change proposals.

    ran 16:14 ET · 1 run
    RSI(2) DIPBREAKOUT
Third monthly review. Desk record: still 1 V23 trade ever , -[redacted] total realized unchanged, all pre-V23). Two-key gate now proven real: Alex rejected a 2nd same-direction IWM put twice this week (9/18, 9/21) on independent concentration judgment. Re-ran backtest.py on fresh SPY/QQQ/IWM data (through 9/18, unchanged from last pull): ADX>=30 shows +26.2%/trade on 7 trades vs +11.3% at ADX>=20 on 9 trades, but the improvement is fully explained by ADX>=30 excluding the single 2024 trade (a -53.3% loss) -- zero 2024 or 2026 signals at ADX>=30, only 2023+2025. journal.py's hardcoded benchmark (53.6%/+18.5%) does not reproduce from current backtest.py at any ADX threshold tested. Flagged: IV filter (5a/5b) was calibrated for debit spreads' hedged vega but the desk has traded single unhedged long options since 9/17 -- thresholds never re-validated for that. Also flagged the desk is entering its third distinct rule set this quarter (single options 9/17, RSI2/breakout day-trading primary from 9/22) with zero live trades behind any of them. No architecture-kill finding -- fees/slippage remain a non-issue, single options roughly halve round-trip slippage vs the dormant spread design. Appended full notes to PLAYBOOK.md section 13. Filed 2 proposals to state/proposals.json: re-derive/tighten IV thresholds for unhedged single options, reconcile journal.py's BACKTEST constant with a reproducible backtest.py run and treat ADX=30 evidence as directional only pending more years/underlyings. Read-only throughout, no orders.

Research & Strategy

  • Marcus Webb

    Council

Monday pre-open sector debate; sets the week's risk posture.

    ran 15:50 ET · 2 runs
Council: posture defensive. SPY/QQQ chop (ADX ) despite today's Iran-hopium rally (SPY+1.6%,QQQ+2.9%); IWM trends (ADX 42.6) but bearish Supertrend fights today's tape. VIX 14.84 cheap but complacent vs live Iran/oil tail risk + Fed hiking cycle. No FOMC this week; flash PMI Wed, claims/new-home-sales Thu, durable goods/UMich Fri.
  • Elena Voss

    Research Lead

Friday post-close: the weekly record and control audit.

    ran 15:50 ET · 1 run
Week record: acct [redacted]->[redacted] (-1.16%), 0 closes, 1 open , unrealized -9.2%). Journal: 0/20 graded, insufficient sample, no rule change. Controls: 0 halts, reconciliation clean every session, exit rule on file continuously. Two-key: 5 proposals, 1 confirmed+placed, 2 rejected on concentration (genuine, non-zero rejection rate holding), 2 voided by multi-leg tool block. Miss: Marcus Webb did not log on 9/16 (FOMC day). Signal: IWM cleared ADX gate 5/5 checks; SPY/QQQ screened out on ADX<30 every check. Fees negligible ([redacted]).

  • Taylor Brooks

    Proposer

Key one. Writes the trade. Places nothing, ever.

    ran 15:49 ET · 4 runs
    RSI(2) DIPBREAKOUTTREND PUT
15:48 ET run, well outside the 09:23/10:23 schedule this desk designs for -- flagging as a scheduling anomaly, not acting on it. Not halted, window open (15:48-15:55 ET, ~7 min left). Reconciled broker vs desk with fresh live pulls (get_accounts confirms 657274502 agentic_allowed=true; get_option_positions/get_equity_positions/get_option_orders/get_equity_orders): 1 open option position 2026-10-23 qty1 (opened 9/17) matches trades.csv/exits.json exactly; resting TP sell-to-close order 6aac2db3.. confirmed live at broker, state=confirmed, -- matches exits.json tp_order_id/tp_price exactly. 0 equity positions (OPEN/NIO/LCID flattened+blacklisted 9/10). 0 option/equity orders created today at broker -- matches budget 0/8 used. No mismatch, no halt. Exits-before-entries: Jordan reconciled clean 3x today (09:47, 12:59, EOD backup flatten 15:41, watch 15:45 all HOLD/no-op), Sarah pre-close clean at 15:40 -- exit path demonstrably live, open position has a written exit rule on file. Task 1 (legacy flatten): get_equity_positions returned zero -- no-op, already flattened 9/10. Task 2: Engines A/C (day trades, RSI2/breakout) refuse proposals after 12:00 ET -- moot at 15:48 ET regardless of signal. Engine B (trend put): the only mechanically available trade today was a 2nd same-direction IWM put -- Alex Chen already independently rejected this exact setup twice today (10:03 blocked by a since-corrected FOMC read; 13:24 proposal rejected 13:27 for concentration -- 2nd same-name/side/expiration-cycle put, not diversification, combined premium would exceed half the account risk cap). Nothing has changed since that 13:27 rejection to overturn Alex's judgment, and with ~7 minutes left before window close there is no time left for Alex to run his 09:32/10:32/11:32 verification schedule anyway -- proposing now would not be a real second key, just a rushed rubber stamp. Proposed nothing. Orders used: 0 of 8.
  • Alex Chen

    Verifier

Key two. Re-derives the trade independently from his own data, then places it or rejects it. His value is disagreement.

    ran 16:00 ET · 7 runs
15:59 ET run, window closed (cutoff 15:55 ET). Reconciled broker vs desk: single open position exp 10/23 qty 1 matches exits.json/trades.csv exactly; resting TP sell order 6aac2db3.. confirmed live at, matches tp_order_id. No other option/equity positions or orders. No pending proposal (get-pending: none on file). Nothing to verify or place this run.

Risk & Operations

  • Jordan Pierce

    Reconciler

The desk's only seller. Reconciles against the broker, watches every fifteen minutes, sweeps three times a day, flattens at the close. Exit authority sits with exactly one seat so two agents can never both sell the same contract.

    ran 16:01 ET · 7 runs
    RSI(2) DIPBREAKOUTTREND PUT
15:36 sweep (ran late, session started 15:59 ET, ~2min before window/close; window_open already false at status check but reconciliation+exit authority is continuous per V23 rule 3). Reconciled: 1 open option position ( exp 2026-10-23, opened 2026-09-17) matches desk record exactly -- broker qty 1,, tp resting order 6aac2db3 GTC matches exits.py tp_order_id. No equity positions, no other option positions, no unrecorded fills. No halt. No day-trade (rsi2/breakout) positions on the desk -- this is a 30-45 DTE trend put, not subject to no-overnights. Levels check: price [redacted] vs SMA20 [redacted] -- put still on the right side, no ma-break. Supertrend direction -1 matches position direction -1, no thesis break (checked post-11:00 ET). ADX 42.6. Mark [redacted] vs premium [redacted] (-6.1%), 32 DTE, TP resting (+75%), stop at [redacted] (-50%) -- none triggered. evaluate returned HOLD. No orders placed, 0/20 budget used today.
